Ghana Black Stars Qualifies For Qatar World Cup

Ghana has secured a place in Qatar 2020 after holding rivals, Nigeria, to a 1:1 draw in Abuja on Tuesday night. Ghana advances to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December 2022, on the away goals rule. The first leg which was played last Friday in Kumasi finished goalless. The Blackstars took the lead at the Abuja National Stadium on 10 minutes through Thomas Partey’s shot from outside the penalty-box which twirled under goalkeeper Francis Uzoho. Nigeria equalized via a penalty kick as Dennis Odoi clanked into Ademola Lookman in the box. William Troost-Ekong didn’t miss the glorious opportunity to bring the home-side back into the Game. Ghana has qualified for four FIFA World Cup tournaments; 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2022..

Akufo-Addo declares June 10 as Green Ghana Day

President Akufo-Addo has declared June 10, as the day to mark this year’s ‘Green Ghana Day’. This year’s activities will be marked under the theme “Mobilising for a Greener Future.” The President made the declaration at the Accra International Conference Centre on March 1, when he launched the 2022 edition of the ‘Green Ghana Day’. The ‘Green Ghana Day’ was instituted last year by government, under the auspices of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, as part of an aggressive afforestation and reforestation agenda, to restore the lost forest cover of the country The maiden edition of the ‘Green Ghana Day’ was held on June 11, 2021, during which the President led the entire nation to plant over seven million trees, exceeding the target of five million trees. President Akufo-Addo said forest reserves form part of the most important natural resources of the country, as they provide sources of livelihood for many and generate income for the nation. He noted that the forest sector ge
