Binsere Commemorates Colour Day

World Colour Day is scheduled and celebrated worldwide on March 21st each year. It is celebrated to create awareness of the the existence and importance of colours in our everyday lives. Also it is done to care for the eye which is the visual perception of reality.

"Colour day is celebrated on the said date because it “is the “equinox”. Around the equinox, the night and day are approximately equally long, symbolically relating to the complementary nature of light and darkness, light and shadow expressed in all human cultures.”

According to some scientists, human beings are capable of seeing about ten million different colours.

In that regard, Binsere municipal authority Junior High School in the Obuasi Municipality of the Ashanti region of Ghana organised to reminisced the celebration of the colour day on 1st October 2021.

Pupils wore their favourite colours to mark the day. We had groups like the white, yellow, red, pink, black, lemon_green, blue, orange, cyan groups.

Amidst the celebration, myriad activities were organized to create excitement among pupils and the need to observe the significance of colours. Such activities included jumbled colour words for pupils to rearrange, forming other words from a given colour word, charade on colours, dance among the colour groups, and other interesting activities.

The excitement with which pupils welcomed and celebrated the occasion with joyous atmospheric dispositions was awesome to behold.

The school is likely to celebrate it on the scheduled date which is March 21st.
