Prez Akufo Addo Announces Full Reopenening Of Schools


President Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo Addo has announced the reopening of all kindergarten, Junior High, Senior High, and Tertiary Schools in the country. This comes after a meeting with the various stakeholders of the education sector on 30th December late year, he said.

All kindergarten, Primary, and Junior High School students will be returning to school on the 15th of January, 2021 for the first academic year.

All first-year students of Senior High Schools will be returning to the classroom in March while Senior High two and three will also return on the 18th of January, 2021.

He added that the double-track system of Senior High Schools has been canceled except for some particular Senior High Schools with less infrastructure.

All University Students should report to school on Saturday 9th January 2021.

Okomfo Anokye was an Ewe Togbi and the twin of Togbi Tsali.

Tsali and Tsala (alias Okomfo kye) were twin brothers. Their father was Togbui Akplormada. These brothers were mysteriously endowed with potent spiritual powers. Tsala, who later became known as Okomfo Anokye, left Notsie on his sojourn at a youthful age, and finally settled at Awukugua in present day Eastern Region. Because of his spiritual powers, he became known as Okomfo Notsie (in Ewe language, Notsie Hunor) or Notsie priest. In Anlo oral history, we learnt Tsala (Okomfo Anokye) returned to Notsie around 1695 to consult with his brother Tsali before accepting the invitation of King Osei Tutu of Ashanti to help establish his kingdom (Ashanti Kingdom). Apostle Dr. Michael Kwabena Ntumy, the former Chairman of the Church of Pentecost Worldwide from 1998 to 2008 got retired from active ministry today in Germany after serving in full time ministry for 39 years. In a colourful event to mark his retirement saw the current chair of the church, Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye, grace the occasion with some executive members.  Still with an iota of hope to convalesce from his immobility, Apostle Ntumy rocked his wheelchair clouded by his family and members to bid him farewell. He recently celebrated his 65th birthday.
